Rogaine for Men has attained the status of a miracle drug for the hair. It claims (and probably rightly, as no research exists to disprove it) to re-grow hair on a balding man’s scalp in 85 out of 100 cases. An 85 success rate in anything, let alone a hair restorative, is an impressive figure.
The Rogaine pioneers reason that male pattern baldness is responsible for hair loss in 95% of all cases; shrinkage of the follicles on the scalp, with age, allows the hair to “abandon ship.” Rogaine is used over these areas to restore follicles and active hair growth again. The follicles, rejuvenated and enlarged to their normal size again (by the element known as monoxidil), return to their youthful job of hair growth.
The result is restored hair in areas that previously was bald, patchy or thinly covered. It also has enthroned monoxidil as the only drug that the FDA has ever approved for hair re-growth. With 20 years of experience and growth, and millions of satisfied customers, male and female, Rogaine remains the first and only government approved hair re-growing method.

What People Are Saying About Rogaine Hair Treatment
Reviewers who had used Rogaine before are united in their praises of Rogaine itself, and its beneficial effects on the male scalp. Virtually none doubted the efficacy of the product, and many had been using Rogaine for years and found the foam just as beneficial.
If there were reservations about it (which accounted for the 3 and ½ star rating out of five), it was for the foam; many found it “smelly,” “oily” and generally unpleasant to apply and leave on. They also complained of the amount of time it had to be left on the scalp to achieve full effect.
The low rating might also be accounted for with the number of customers who were not “converted” to Rogaine because they had never used it before. Non-users, or those who had heard about the product but never applied, were divided in their opinions, some praising it in five-star reviews, some calling it “useless” in one-star reviews. In addition, some dermatologists wrote reviews that said the alcohol content in the medication was bad for the scalp (no research exists to prove this, however, as alcohol, which is highly absorbent of moisture, has been used for scalp acne and scalp carbuncles with success).
One other criticism that was leveled against the product was that it was far more expensive than the cream version of Rogaine, a mere 2 ounces costing what a 8 oz. (on some discount websites 16 oz.) tube of ointment and/or cream cost.
The general feeling about the product, judging from the reviews, is that it is a miraculous drug for those for whom it works, as simple as that. The foam is generally considered easier to apply than the cream (one reviewer compared it to putting shaving cream on the scalp, an ironic reversal of shaving).
