Many of us have seen people in movies using a hand held metal detector to find watches, rings or other objects made out of precious metals, objects that may have been dropped by others in the sand. My wife got me the TK4-PL metal detector for my birthday as a gift. I never really saw the point in gardening, and I knew I needed to find something to do with my time, so I was happy to receive this on my 65th birthday. It was the perfect gift, especially since whenever we’re at the beach with our grandkids, I always find myself bored, so I just walk around. Anyway, my 6 year old grandson Tim always looks forward to “treasure hunting”. The beach is 18 miles away, and there’s a park about 2 blocks from the house. My friend Joe from where I used to work also has the same hobby, so we sometimes hunt together. He uses a Bounty Hunter Gold Digger Metal Detector. The TK4-PL makes a beeping sound (most audible when wearing headphones) whenever it detects something in the ground. Every time this happens, my grandson jumps up and down with excitement.
This Isn’t The Cheapest Metal Detector Out There
I’ve seen listings for the TK4-PL metal detector online and price-wise, this isn’t exactly the cheapest metal detector on the market. Some metal detectors from Bounty Hunter are cheaper, but since I haven’t tried them, I’m going to assume those are generic compared to the TK4-PL. I believe this cost my wife around $90, but I guess that’s not so bad. Other metal detectors cost around twice as much, or even more.
While I haven’t found any 24k gold jewelry and other great treasures using the Bounty Hunter TK4-PL and doubt that I will find something that costs a million dollars, I can’t complain with the quarters, dimes, rusty nails and gold-plated brooch that we found in the park using the TK4-PL. This summer, the whole family is flying to the Bahamas. I look forward to unearthing some treasures with my grandson. Maybe this time we’ll find something good.
